Storm Clean-Up

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service would like to update residents on storm clean-up procedure. For those areas of the City where major storm damage occurred, specifically the areas of 3rd St. to 11th St. between Portage Trail and Broad Blvd. and Portage Trail to Tallmadge Rd. to Bailey Rd. , residents are encouraged to put any debris that is 8 inches in diameter or less on your devilstrip.

Road Closure Due to Flooding

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service, would like to alert residents and motorists of a road closure in Cuyahoga Falls. Riverview Road is closed until further notice between Ira and Bolanz due to flooding from the Cuyahoga River. Detour signs are posted. Contact the Street Department at 330-971-8030 for additional information.

Sanitation Service Delayed One Day During Memorial Holiday

Service Director Valerie Wax Carr announces that Collection crews will not be working Monday, May 30, 2011 due to the Memorial Day holiday. All customers’ collections will be delayed one day. Refuse and recycle crews will work Tuesday through Saturday. If you have any questions, you may contact the Sanitation Department directly at (330) 971-8010.

Lane Restrictions on Front Street Near Prospect Avenue to Facilitate Construction of the Watermark Building

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service would like to alert residents and motorists that beginning on Monday, May 16, 2011, the southbound lanes of Front Street will be closed at Prospect Avenue. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the remaining northbound lanes.

This condition will remain for approximately 90-days. Emergency crews have been notified.

Falls River Cruise Opening Day Postponed

Due to high water levels in the Cuyahoga River, the Falls River Cruise opening day will be postponed until Sat., June 11th. Weather/water level permitting.

Boil Alert Due To Valve Replacement

On Thursday, May 12, 2011, following a valve replacement, the water dropped below pressure. Therefore, as a safeguard in accordance to EPA regulations, a BOIL ALERT has been issued for the Falls Ave. from Front St. to 4th St; Front St. from Falls Ave. to Chestnut Blvd.; Sackett Ave. from Front St. to 4th St., and 4th St. from Sackett Ave. to Falls Ave. until Saturday at 12:00 p.m.. To ensure safety, please boil your water for a minimum of two minutes.

Rockin' on the River Kicks off Downtown Activities

Get ready for summer!  The first Rockin’ on the River concert in the Falls River Square District kicks off on Friday, May 20, 2011.  While all can still expect the best in entertainment, food, and free parking, attendees will now experience a change in atmosphere as the new curfew is now in effect.  “This new measure was necessary, as we were attracting the wrong type of individuals in the heart of our City during special events," stated Mayor Don Robart.  Minors that are not with a parent will not be allowed within the curfew area after 8:00 p.m.  “We are hopeful t

Service Director Valerie Wax Carr announces that the Water Utilities Department will begin its annual Hydrant Flushing and Testing Program on Monday, May 16, and continue through Monday, June 30, 2011. The flushing of the Cuyahoga Falls water system will be performed Monday through Friday, during the day between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
