Cuyahoga Falls Announces AMP Scholarship Program

Application information for the 2011 American Municipal Power (AMP) Scholarship Program is now available through local High School Guidance Offices. AMP has established this scholarship program to encourage high school students in member communities to further their education and to create an awareness of careers in the municipal electric utility field.

City Announces Sanitation Holiday Schedule

Service Director Valerie Wax Carr announces that there will be NO delay in Sanitation collection for the week of December 27, 2010 as well as the week of January 3, 2011.  All residents are to follow their regular Sanitation collection schedule.

Cuyahoga Falls Issues Citywide Parking Ban

Mayor Don L. Robart, would like to alert residents and motorists to a citywide parking ban in effect starting at 9:00 AM, Monday December 13, 2010 until 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 15, 2010. The parking ban is needed to assist our street crews in clearing off roadways. Cars parked on city streets will be ticketed and are subject to towing.

Cuyahoga Falls Receives Scenic Ohio Award

On Saturday, October 16, 2010, the City was presented with the State of Ohio’s 2010 Scenic Ohio Award applauding the creation of the High Bridge Glens Park on South Front Street. Present to accept the award at the Governor’s Residence in Columbus were Susan Truby, Director of Development and Jennifer Syx, Deputy Director of Development.

City & Subway Respond to Blood Emergency

The City of Cuyahoga Falls and the Natatorium SUBWAY announce another special partnership to address the critical need for blood in northeast Ohio.

On Thursday, October 7th, the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium will host a Red Cross blood drive. An open blood drive for the general public will run from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. All presenting blood donors will receive a coupon for a free 6-inch regular sub sandwich, for a limited time at the Natatorium SUBWAY.

DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The Police Department is participating in the DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event is on Saturday September 25 from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Citizens may bring in unused and old prescriptions to have them disposed of properly. The drop off will be at our north garage Natatorium side of the city building.
