Do you have unused Medications? There is a safe way to dispose of them.  Improper disposal of medicines presents both a public safety and environmental hazard. 

Summit County Public health, in collaboration with local community partners, has established a pharmaceutical disposal program for residents to safely dispose of their unused medications.

Cuyahoga Falls Electric System Plans Lunch & Learn Meeting and Webinar

The Cuyahoga Falls Electric System (CFES) in partnership with American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP), is hosting a Lunch & Learn meeting for CFES commercial and industrial electric utility customers on Tuesday, February 3rd, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, 2345 Fourth Street. There will also be a webinar for the AMP Demand Response program on Tuesday, February 24th at 10:00 AM.

City Encourages Participation in VITA, A Program for Free Tax Preparation Assistance

Mayor Don Walters has partnered with Neighborhood Development Services (NDS) to bring the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to Cuyahoga Falls residents. This means, IRS-certified volunteers will provide free basic income tax return preparation to qualified individuals for the April 15 filing deadline.

Winter Weather Safety Information

City of Cuyahoga Falls Director of Public Service, Eric M. Czetli asks all citizens to remember three simple ways to make our City safer in the winter months:  1) Remove parked cars from city streets during periods of heavy snowfall.  2) Do not plow or blow snow from driveways or sidewalks into streets that have been cleared or on to adjacent property.  3) Keep your sidewalks clear of snow and ice for children, mail carriers and neighbors who use sidewalks daily.

Cuyahoga Falls Electric System Announces 2015 American Municipal Power Scholarship Program

Application information for the 2015 American Municipal Power (AMP) Scholarship Program is now available. AMP has established this scholarship program to encourage high school students in member communities to further their education and to create an awareness of careers in the municipal electric utility field.

Ribbons Tied in Support of CFPD

Mayor Don Walters announces that the Mayor's Office has blue-and-black striped ribbon available for individuals interested in showing their appreciation for the men and women of the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department.  Interested Cuyahoga Falls residents and businesses can obtain ribbon--free of charge--from the Mayor's office at City Hall.

Change in Cuyahoga Falls Sanitation Collection Schedule

Service Director, Eric M. Czetli,  announced a change in sanitation service due to New Years Day on Thursday, January 1, 2015.  All Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday collections will be made on regularly-scheduled days.  All Thursday and Friday solid waste and recycling collections will be delayed one day. Sanitation crews will work through Saturday, January 3, to complete the regular collection schedules for all Thursday and Friday customers.
