City's Public Utilities Customer Advocate Recognized with Environmental Award

Eric M. Czetli, Director of Public Service, is pleased to announce that Becky McCleary, the City's Public Utilities Customer Advocate recently received a "Champion for the Environment" award by The League of Women Voters of Akron. The awards were presented to a number of women of many professions, who have been involved in environmental protection, preservation and conservation.

The League of Women Voters of Akron was founded in 1940 as a non-partisan, political organization that support government policies that address issues of importance selected by the group.  They have long advocated issues involving clean air, clean water and our natural resources.
The staff of Summit ReWorks, formerly the Summit Akron Solid Waste Management Authority, nominated Ms. McCleary for her outstanding work with organizations whose main focus is preserving our environment.
