Funeral Procession for Marine Sgt. Justin Walsh

Mayor Don L. Robart, requests all citizens of Cuyahoga Falls to honor the memory, service, and sacrifice of Marine Sgt. Justin Walsh on Thursday, October 19, 2006. Sgt. Walsh, a native of Cuyahoga Falls and 2001 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, was wounded in Iraq on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 and passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 from injuries he sustained. A funeral service is scheduled at First United Methodist Church at 245 Portage Trail beginning at 10:00 a.m. Sgt. Walsh will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery.



A procession will leave at 9:30 A.M. from Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home at 1930 Front Street to the First United Methodist Church. Citizens are urged to participate in the procession route and to bring a hand-held flag to raise in honor of Sgt. Walsh along the procession route. The route is as follows:



Leaving Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home and heading west on Broad Blvd to 4th Street heading north past Cuyahoga Falls High School to Oakwood Drive turning right onto Second Street heading south to Portage Trail heading west to 3rd Street heading north and ending at First United Methodist Church.



On Tuesday Night, fallen soldier Marine Sgt Justin Walsh will be escorted from Cleveland Hopkins airpoirt by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. At approximately 9:00 PM, the escort will travel south on State Road and then proceed East on Broad Blvd to Clifford Funeral home on Front Street. Businesses along the escort route are being ask to display signs of support, Also, residents along Broad Blvd are being asked to hold candles in honor of Sgt Walsh
