Cuyahoga Falls Named "Ohio Clean Energy Community" of the Year

At the 6th Annual Green Energy Ohio (GEO) Meeting held on Saturday, May 20th in Bexley, Ohio, the City of Cuyahoga Falls was awarded the 2005 Ohio Clean Energy Community of the Year. In its second year, the GEO Ohio Clean Energy Community Award recognizes exemplary grassroots efforts of Ohio communities in supporting the advancement, understanding and application of renewable energy technologies.



Cuyahoga Falls was recognized for outstanding community clean energy efforts supported by City leadership initiatives for municipal, residential, educational, and commercial energy efficiency. Specifically, Cuyahoga Falls participation in the advancement of Ohio wind energy development, municipal applications of solar energy technologies, and comprehensive community education programs were lauded as exemplary in the development of sustainable clean energy goals.



Mayor Don L. Robart stated, "We are very proud of our energy efficiency efforts and are extremely proud to receive this prestigious award."
