First Aid Kit Program for Cuyahoga Falls Schools

The City of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, would like to announce the First Aid Kit Program for Cuyahoga Falls schools, which was made possible through the generosity of Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital. Their donation provides a first aid kit for each classroom in over 50 school buildings within the border of Cuyahoga Falls. The kits were obtained from the American Red Cross.

The City of Cuyahoga Falls Emergency Management Committee has developed this program in cooperation with the city schools as part of the school crisis plan. In view of incidents that have taken place in school buildings over the years, it is imperative to have immediate medical attention available to injured students.

Under normal circumstances, an injured student receives attention at the site of his or her injury, in the school?s medical area or at a near-by hospital. In some situations, normal methods cannot be implemented. With first aid supplies stored in each classroom, someone will be able to provide immediate, medical attention until professional medical care is possible. It is our sincerest hope that these kits will never be used.

The City of Cuyahoga Falls is very grateful to the Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital for its generous support. Mayor Robart will introduce the First Aid Kit Program at 10:00 AM, March 8, 2005, at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium - Hopewell Room.
