2015 National Public Lands Day is Saturday September 26th

Mayor Don Walters is pleased to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls is coordinating a 2015 National Public Lands Day Cuyahoga River Cleanup project on Saturday, September 26th. Volunteers are being recruited to assist with Cuyahoga River Cleanup efforts from two main locations; River Front Park and Water Works Park.

Portions of Hollywood Avenue to Close

City officials would like to alert residents and motorists that beginning on Monday, August 24, 2015 the Street Department will be repairing portions of Hollywood Avenue between Bailey Road and Norwood Avenue which may result in temporary closures. 

Last Food Truck Frenzy and Concert Series 8/23!

Join Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation this Sunday, August 23rd at 5p.m. for the last Food Truck Frenzy and Concert Series of the summer! The blues and jazz style band Blue Lunch will be performing.  See the flyer below.

 

Water Works Will Be Open Aug 22 & 23rd

Water Works Family Aquatic Center will be open this weekend August 22-23.  The aquatic center is closed from August 19-21st; the season ends at the close of business on August 23rd.  Limited concessions will be available for the weekend; however, all other amenities (pools, slides, lazy river, etc.) remain unaffected.  

Notice of Receiving Proposals

The City of Cuyahoga Falls seeks bids from qualified contractors, on a competitive basis, for the 2015/2016 Senior Snow Removal Program. Beginning on August 14, 2015, qualified contractors may secure a copy of the bid specifications at www.cityofcf.com/seniorsnow or by contacting the Development Department at 330.971.8140. Only proposals received on or before 4:00pm on September 15, 2015 will be considered.

 

Park Board Meeting Cancelled for August 13, 2015

The August 13, 2015 Park Board Meeting has been cancelled.  The next regularly scheduled Park Board Meeting is Thursday, September 10th at 5:00p.m. in the Community Wing of the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium.

Cuyahoga Falls Community Days at the Akron Zoo

 In appreciation of the support of Summit County voters and residents, the Akron Zoo is, once again, offering free admission to the zoo during Cuyahoga Falls Community Days.

D’Iberville, Mississippi Celebrates Its 10 Year Annniversary After Hurricane Katrina

Mayor Don Walters is asking the community to reflect back to 2005 as the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina is approaching. As you may recall, on September 12, 2005, the City of Cuyahoga Falls adopted D’Iberville, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina completely devastated this small town (pop 7,608).  Approximately 60% of the town was completely wiped out and what remained was severely damaged from wind and flooding.
