Why Am I Notified?

Some actions of the Planning Commission are directed at determining the proper zoning classification for a property or area. The Planning Commission is asked to determine if the classification is appropriate, in keeping with the City’s best interests, in accordance with the Cuyahoga Falls 2010 Land Use and Thoroughfare Plan, and for the good of public health, safety and welfare.

In such instance, the Planning Commission may hold a public hearing, and reasonable notice is given to property owners who might be affected by a change of zoning. Thus if you own property within 200 feet of a parcel or parcels subject to zoning review or changes by the Planning Commission, you are entitled to timely notification of the time and place of the hearing.
