Get Your Hats and Mittens and Get Outside...for the Frozen River Festival sponsored by the Gardens of Western Reserve Assisted Living Residence
January 18-20, 2013
at the Ice Rink at Falls River Square
Enjoy fun activities inside and out all weekend! Watch as students from the University of Akron Culinary Arts Program create works of art with blocks of ice. If you've never seen an ice carving in process, you will not want to miss this. Team members are challenged by Chef Richard Alford to carve over 25 blocks of ice throughout the weekend. From compulsory, team and individual carvings, these students will showcase their talents as they prepare for the national ice carving competition later in January.
On Friday and Saturday, warm up inside the Pavilion with Thirsty Dog Brewery and Sarah's Vineyard Winery. Sample Thirsty Dog's custom-brewed Cuyahoga Falls Bicentennial Ale as well as a selected wines from Cuyahoga Falls-own Sarah's Vineyard. While you're warming up, browse through and shop the specialty vendors in the Pavilion throughout the weekend. Jewelry, makeup, kids accessories and perfectly paired snacks and baked items for beer and wine will be on sale.
