Join Us For A River Day Clean-up!

The City of Cuyahoga Falls invites all interested volunteers to register for the 2007 River Day & Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup (GAC) project. In honor of the beauty and awesome water resource of the Cuyahoga River, volunteers will be collecting litter and beautifying various sites within the community.



The City of Cuyahoga Falls 2007 River Day GAC stewardship project is planned for Saturday, May 19th from 10 AM until 2 PM. Volunteers are encouraged to register the week of May 7th - May 11th via email to MCCLEARYRM@CITYOFCF.COM or by calling 330-971-8201.

Hydrant Flushing To Begin

Service Director Valerie Wax Carr announces that the Water Utilities Department will begin its annual Hydrant Flushing and Testing Program on Monday, May 7, and continue through May 11, 2007. The flushing of the Cuyahoga Falls water system will be performed in the evenings between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.



The Hydrant Flushing program serves an important dual purpose of removing sediment and iron deposits from the water mains and provides a check of the working condition of the hydrants to insure the best possible fire protection for the community.


Spring Clean-up Program To Begin

Service Director Valerie Wax Carr announces that the 2007 Spring Clean-up Program is scheduled for all sanitation customers for two full weeks in May beginning Monday, May 7, 2007 through Friday, May 18, 2007.



Extra bags of trash and bulk items will be picked up curbside free of charge these two weeks on your regular pick-up day. Please have everything curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your regular collection day. Please, no "Party Paks" these two clean-up weeks.

Sackett Avenue To Close for Landslide Repairs

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service, would like to alert residents and motorists to the landslide repairs on Sackett Avenue between 26th Street and Calvert Drive beginning April 26, 2007. Motorists traveling east on Sackett Avenue will have access to house number 2900 and higher addresses, and Sackett Avenue will be open Chestnut Hill Memorial Park Cemetery for westbound traveling motorists.



The entire project is anticipated to take six to eight weeks for completion.

As a tribute to the beauty and awesome water resource of the Cuyahoga River, the City of Cuyahoga Falls is coordinating a Great American Cleanup & River Day Beautification Project planned for River Day 2007, Saturday, May 19th from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.


City to Celebrate Arbor Day at the Historical Society

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service announces that the City of Cuyahoga Falls is eagerly planning the annual Arbor Day Program, which will take place Friday, April 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the new home of the Cuyahoga Falls Historical Society located at 2083 Cook St. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Cuyahoga Falls Named Tree City USA For 20th Year

Cuyahoga Falls has been named a Tree City USA community by the National Arbor Day Foundation to honor its commitment to community forestry. It is the twentieth year Cuyahoga Falls has received this national recognition.



The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.
