Water Works Family Aquatic Center Closed Today Due to Flooding

The Cuyahoga Falls Water Works Family Aquatic Center will be closed today, Friday, August 15, 2008 due to flooding. Yesterday's large volume of rainfall caused a pond across from the facility to overflow its banks and empty into the aquatic center's main pool.

The Water Works Family Aquatic Center Information Line (330-971-8433) will be updated hourly beginning at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, August 16th on the status of the pool reopening.

Natatorium Areas Temporarily Closed for Annual Maintenance

The Natatorium will be performing Annual Maintenance in the following three areas during the month of September.

The Aquatic Center will be closed Tuesday Septemeber 2nd -Wednesday Septemeber 10th, and will reopen Thursday September 11th.

The Basketball and Racquetball Courts will be closed Monday Sept 22nd - Sunday September 28th, and will reopen Monday September 29th.

Free Movie Wows Audience at Falls River Square

The downtown riverfront amphitheatre was packed with close to 500 people as families gathered to watch the Bee Movie, the first in a series of free movies presented by Right Hand Management & Productions, Inc. and the City of Cuyahoga Falls. Families can enjoy free movies every Thursday evening through September 4th as follows:

City Offers Free Movies at Falls River Square

For decades, the Downtown Riverfront District in Cuyahoga Falls, known as Falls River Square, has been host to thousands of free festivals and other public events. Bringing yet another spectacular event to the community, Mayor Don L. Robart is pleased to announce a new partnership whereby creating a brand new event in the downtown.

Civic Center Improvements

The Civic Campus in the downtown district is about to undergo a major facelift. In 2007, the City purchased the former B&B Towing property, which is adjacent to the City Building. In late March 2008, B&B Towing relocated to 3901 State Road. The City has been working with the property owner for years and was successful in moving them to another site in Cuyahoga Falls. "It was important for us to keep B&B Towing in our City," commented Mayor Robart.

Community Days at the Akron Zoo

Free admission to the Akron Zoo on August 18 and 19 for residents of Cuyahoga Falls with a valid Community Day ticket. Free tickets available at our Utility Billing office and at the Zoo. Limit of four tickets per household while supplies last.

Sanitation Service Delayed During July 4th Holiday

Service Director Valerie Wax Carr announces that Collection crews will not be working Friday, July 4, 2008 due to the July 4th holiday. Trash pickup for City of Cuyahoga Falls residents and businesses on Friday routes will be delayed one day and picked up Saturday, July 5th. Falls River Square Rocks the Fourth!

Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don L. Robart, announces a spectacular Fourth of July Celebration taking place in the Downtown Falls River Square District, beginning July 2nd. The holiday weekend is jam-packed with music, live theater, food, fun and splashing about in the interactive water fountain. "It was our goal to provide something for everyone's taste over the long weekend," commented Mayor Robart.
