Ribbons of Honor Display at Oakwood Cemetery

Mayor Don L. Robart is proud to announce the upcoming Ribbons of Honor Display remembering the fallen heroes of the Iraqi War. This unique ribbon display will be showcased along the wrought iron fence of Oakwood Cemetery on Oakwood Drive beginning Saturday, May 17, 2008. The gold ribbons represent the more than 4,000 service people who have lost their lives during this time of war. Mayor Robart stated, "Citizen, project coordinator and volunteer, Terry Anaszewsicz, has worked diligently to bring this project to life.

Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio - Water Works Family Aquatic Center memberships are available now at the Natatorium through June 6th. The facility will open on May 24, 2008 for Memorial Day Weekend. It will then close and reopen June 6, 2008 to Aug 24, 2008. The facility, located at 2025 Munroe Falls Avenue in Cuyahoga Falls, includes slides, lazy river, sand play area, geysers, sprays, splash party packages, concessions and much more. Members may enter the facility at 10:30am, a half hour prior to other daily customers.

Section of Portage Trail In Cuyahoga Falls to Be Rebuilt

Section of Portage Trail In Cuyahoga Falls to Be Rebuilt

The City of Cuyahoga Falls would like to alert residents and motorists to the rebuilding of a section of Portage Trail from Front Street to 4th Street beginning May 5, 2008 and lasting approximately seven (7) to eight (8) weeks. As part of the rebuild, the curbs will be removed and replaced and the street will be repaved. Construction will also include new drive aprons.

The City of Cuyahoga Falls invites all interested volunteers to register for the 2008 River Day & Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup (GAC) project. In honor of the beauty and awesome water resource of the Cuyahoga River, volunteers will be cleaning up litter and beautifying various sites within the community.

Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, and Stow Collaboration

The Mayors of Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson and Stow will be hosting a press conference on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Noon to announce an unprecedented regional initiative that will include the construction of a new regional hospital in Summit County.



This exciting announcement is a result of collaborative efforts among the three municipalities to initiate an economic development venture that will result in the creation of approximately $100 million in new investment.


CITY ANNOUNCES 2008 CITYWIDE SPRING CLEANUP PROGRAM

The City of Cuyahoga Falls announces that the Sanitation Department will begin its annual Citywide Spring Cleanup Program for All City of Cuyahoga Falls Sanitation customers beginning May 5 and continuing through May 16.



Please place all Spring Clean-Up refuse at the curb on your regular pickup day by 7 am for collection, along with your regular refuse and recyclables for these two weeks. There will be no additional charges for extra trash outside of your cart on your regular pickup day these 2 weeks.


CITY ANNOUNCES 2008 HYDRANT FLUSHING PROGRAM

The City of Cuyahoga Falls announces that the Water Utilities Department will begin its annual Hydrant Flushing and Testing Program on Monday, May 5, and continue through Friday, May 9, 2008. The flushing of the Cuyahoga Falls water system will be performed in the evenings between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.



The Hydrant Flushing program serves an important dual purpose of removing sediment and iron deposits from the water mains and provides a check of the working condition of the hydrants to insure the best possible fire protection for the community.
