Donors to Receive Special Gift at Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium on October 6th

The American Red Cross is hosting a community blood drive from 11 am to 7 pm on October 6 at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, 2345 Fourth Street.

Trick or Treat in Cuyahoga Falls

Mayor Don L. Robart has announced trick-or-treat hours for the City of Cuyahoga Falls.  Trick or Treat will be held on Saturday, October 29th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Trick-or-treat will follow the annual Community Halloween Spooktacular at Falls River Square being held the same day from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

Cuyahoga Falls Households Encouraged to Redeem Energy Efficient Light Bulb Coupons

The Cuyahoga Falls Electric System (CFES) encourages residential electric utility customers to take advantage of the GE manufacturer compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb coupons mailed to households a few weeks ago. The manufacturer coupons are part of the CFES Public Power residential energy efficiency initiative in partnership with Efficiency Smart to assist Cuyahoga Falls households in conserving energy and controlling energy costs.

2011 National Public Lands Day - Cuyahoga River Cleanup Project

The City of Cuyahoga Falls is partnering with Kent State University and the cities of Kent, Munroe Falls and several other Cuyahoga River watershed communities in a 3rd annual National Public Lands Day Cuyahoga River Cleanup Project on Saturday, September 24th. Volunteers are needed to assist either on land or via canoe.

City Purchases Former State Road BP Station

Mayor Don L. Robart announced that the City of Cuyahoga Falls closed on the purchase of the former BP gas station located at 2811 State Road on September 9, 2011.  “Due to its great, visible location, this corner is a key parcel for the redevelopment of the new Portage Crossing retail project,” stated Mayor Robart.

The parcel was purchased for $ 885,000 and based on the previously approved contract for sale between the City and the developer; the purchase price was shared 50/50 with Stark Enterprises.

Public Observance Ceremony in Honor of 9/11 10th Anniversary

Mayor Don L. Robart announces that in conjunction with the Oktoberfest Committee, the City of Cuyahoga Falls will commemorate the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the tragedies of September 11, 2001. A public Observance Ceremony will take place at the Falls River Square Amphitheater stage on Sunday, September 11, 2011 starting at 12:30 PM. 

Miss Ohio 2011 Bike Tour Makes a Stop in Cuyahoga Falls

Mayor Don L. Robart has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in The Hopewell Room at The Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, 2345 4th Street.

2011 Fall Clean Up Program

Fall Clean-up for ALL City of Cuyahoga Falls Sanitation customers will begin on Tuesday, September 6 and continue through Friday, September 16. Please place all Fall Clean-Up refuse at the curb on your regular pickup day by 7 a.m. for collection, along with your regular refuse and recyclables.

Sanitation Service Delayed One Day During Labor Day Holiday

Service Director Valerie Wax Carr announces that Collection crews will not be working Monday, September 5, 2011 due to the Labor Day holiday. All customers’ collections will be delayed one day. Refuse and recycle crews will work Tuesday through Saturday. If you have any questions, you may contact the Sanitation Department directly at (330) 971-8010.
