Senior Snow Watch Application Deadline Approaching

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service, would like to remind all senior citizen residents of the City that there is still time to sign up for the Senior Snow Watch Program.



In order to participate, seniors must be at least 65 years old without an able bodied person living in their home with them. Residents who are less than 65 but are permanently and totally disabled may also qualify for this free program. Driveways must be concrete or asphalt.


Mayor Encourages Summertime Blood Donations to Honor First Responders

The City of Cuyahoga Falls is sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, August 6th, from 1 pm to 7 pm at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium.



Mayor Don Robart encourages all residents to participate in this special blood drive. "This is our annual 'Badges for Blood' Red Cross blood drive, whereby we honor the men and women in our local police and fire departments who put their lives on the line every day."


City Of Cuyahoga Falls Announces Community Photo Contest

To celebrate the City of Cuyahoga Falls national recognition as one of the TOP 100 communities in the country, residents are invited to engage their photography skills to take and submit a photo for entry in a Community Pride Photo Contest. The guidelines are as follows:



1. Photo should be taken and submitted by a resident of Cuyahoga Falls who is not a professional photographer. All ages are invited to participate.

Cuyahoga Falls Offers Paperless Utility Billing

Mayor Don L. Robart announces a new cost saving initiative that offers City of Cuyahoga Falls utility customers the option of receiving their utility bills online. Utility customers will now have the option to receive email notification that their utility bill is due instead of receiving a paper bill in the mail. The email notification will include the customer's mailing address and service account number, current charges, amount due, payment date and a link to the City Web site to view additional billing information.


Request for Lawn Maintenance, Snow Plowing, & Tree Services for NSP Program

The City of Cuyahoga Falls is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to provide lawn/property maintenance services for approximately six (6) vacant, City-owned residential properties. The required lawn/property maintenance services include, mowing, trimming (edging and bushes/shrubs), light landscaping (excluding hardscaping, e.g., tree/shrub and/or brush removal, fall/spring cleanups, etc.).


Request for Lead Based Paint Inspection Services for NSP Program

The City of Cuyahoga Falls is requesting qualifications from State licensed Lead Based Paint Assessors/Inspectors to provide inspection services for approximately six (6) vacant, foreclosed properties that the City is interested in purchasing through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program within the next 12 months. The Neighborhood Stabilization Program is a State of Ohio funded program through the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). All inspections shall conform to current standards set forth by the HUD Guidelines Chapter 7 (revised 1997) and Ohio regulations.

State Road Improvements: From Graham Road to Quick Road

Mr. Tony V. Demasi, P.E., City Engineer of the City of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, would like to alert residents, businesses and motorists of the plan to improve State Road from Graham Road to Quick Road in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The purpose of the project is to reduce traffic congestion and to improve the safety of the corridor. A secondary purpose is to safely accommodate the increasing bicycle traffic along the corridor.


CARTOON NETWORK'S GET ANIMATED TOUR COMES TO WATER WORKS FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER!

Kids and parents won't want to miss the Northeast Ohio stop of Cartoon Network's Get Animated annual tour! In partnership with Time Warner Cable and Cartoon Network, Water Works Family Aquatic Center will host this exciting event on July 18, from 10am to 4 pm. This 40 city tour, now in its fourth year, is designed to get kids, ages 6 - 14, off the couch and get them moving through the creative use of Cartoon Network's characters and cartoon shows. And yes, Ben 10 and Chowder will be in attendance!
