The Bicentennial History Committee is Looking for Historic Homes

The Bicentennial History Committee would like to offer residents the opportunity to have their house toured during the 2012 Bicentennial Celebration. If your home is over 100 years old and you would like to open your doors for this once in a lifetime event, please contact the History Subcommittee Chairman, Sharon Myers at or by calling the Bicentennial hotline at 330-971-8205.  The historic home tours will take place on Saturday, August 4th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Arson Arrest for Fire on Winter Parkway

On Wednesday morning December 21st, 2011at 4am, the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department and Police responded to a call of a fire in the hallway of 2255 Winter Parkway, just outside of apartment #125. Upon arrival of the Fire Department and Police Officers, the fire was found to have been extinguished by the tenant in apartment #125 and a neighbor, who used a fire extinguisher on the blaze.

CFES Announces 2012 American Municipal Power (AMP) Scholarship Program

Application information for the 2012 American Municipal Power (AMP) Scholarship Program is now available through local High School Guidance Offices. AMP has established this scholarship program to encourage high school students in member communities to further their education and to create an awareness of careers in the municipal electric utility field.

The Cuyahoga Falls Electric System may nominate one candidate for the Lyle B. Wright Scholarship, and one candidate for the Richard H. Gorsuch Scholarship.

The Bicentennial Book Committee is Looking for Historic Photos

The Bicentennial Commemorative Book Committee is looking for historical photos from the public. The photos will be reviewed for possible submission into the Bicentennial book that is being prepared.

Cuyahoga Falls New Years Eve Bicentennial Ball

The City of Cuyahoga Falls Bicentennial Committee cordially invite you to The Cuyahoga Falls Bicentennial Ball! Saturday, December 31, 2011 7:00 pm to 12:30 am, The Pavilion at Falls River Square, 2085 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls. Cost is $195 per couple or $97.50 for a single ticket. Dinner, drinks, dancing and dessert with a champagne toast at midnight. Black tie optional. The New Year's Eve party is a fundrasing event for the Bicentennial and $50 of the ticket price is tax deductible.  Join Us in Celebrating the Beginning of our 200th Birthday!

Neighborhood Stabilization Program Deemed a Success!

In May 2009, the City of Cuyahoga Falls was awarded a Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Grant from the Ohio Department of Development in the amount of $783,204 to purchase six vacant, foreclosed homes in the community.
