City of Cuyahoga Falls 2011 Great American River Day Cleanup & Beautification Project

The City of Cuyahoga Falls invites volunteers to participate in the community’s 2011 Great American River Day Cleanup & Beautification Project planned for Saturday, May 21st from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Volunteers will be cleaning up litter along the Cuyahoga River and throughout the community, planting flowers at park shelters and entry areas, and pulling invasive plant species in Water Works Park.

Changing the Landscape of Portage Trail

Through a lengthy process that began in 2009, the City of Cuyahoga Falls recently finalized the purchase of property located at 1110-1130 Portage Trail. These dilapidated buildings between 11th and 12th Streets were condemned by the City in 2009 after sitting vacant for years. "Condemning the structures was the first step in order to get the ball rolling," stated Mayor Don Robart. "Portage Trail is a highly traveled thoroughfare and these buildings were a detriment to the area."

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service announces that the City of Cuyahoga Falls is eagerly planning the annual Arbor Day Program, which will take place Friday, April 29, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Cuyahoga Falls Civic Campus. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
