Cuyahoga Falls Gas Aggregation Update and Rate Beginning May 1

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service has announced that Cuyahoga Falls has entered into a new natural gas contract with IGS Energy.  The current contract with Vectren Source Energy is set to expire at the end of April 2012.  The Vectren rate of $3.4008/mcf variable and $4.491/mcf fixed will run through April, which is reflected on the May bill.

City to Celebrate 25th Arbor Day in honor of our City's 200th Birthday

Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service announces that the City of Cuyahoga Falls is eagerly planning the annual Arbor Day Program, which will take place Friday, April 27, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Kennedy Park, 2100 Issaquah Street. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Bath Rd. Road Closure

Valerie Wax Carr, Service Director would like to alert residents that on Monday, April 16, 2012 a contractor will be laying asphalt across Bath Road just east of the State Road intersection. They will have traffic control and detours marked. There will be no traffic permitted on Bath Road east of State Road, except for emergency vehicles and school buses. The same contractor will also be laying asphalt across State Road just south of the Bath Road intersection on the same day.

City of Cuyahoga Falls Announces 2012 E-Recycle Collection

Citizens, businesses and organizations are encouraged to safely and securely recycle old electronics at the 2012 City of Cuyahoga Falls E-Recycle Collection program planned for Friday, May 11th from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, May 12th from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM at the City of Cuyahoga Falls Service Complex located at 2560 Bailey Road.  Participants are asked to enter the Bailey Road City Service Complex parking lot via Gaylord Grove Drive.

City of Cuyahoga Falls Great American River Day Cleanup & Bicentennial Project

The City of Cuyahoga Falls invites groups and individuals to participate in the community’s 2012 Great American River Day Cleanup & Bicentennial Beautification Project planned for Saturday, May 19th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

They will have traffic control and detours marked. There will be no traffic permitted on Bath Road east of State Road, except for emergency vehicles and school buses. The work completion is estimated for Friday, April 13, 2012.

State Rd. Road Closure

Valerie Wax Carr, Service Director would like to alert residents that on Monday, April 2, 2012 a contractor will be digging across State Road just south of the Bath Road intersection. They will have traffic control and detours marked. There will be no southbound traffic down State Road from Bath Road; northbound traffic will be allowed through to the intersection. Emergency vehicles and schools buses will be allowed through during the closure. The work completion is estimated for Friday, April 6, 2012.

They will have traffic control and detours marked. There will be no westbound traffic down Bath Road from State Road; eastbound traffic will be allowed through to the intersection. The work is estimated to be completed on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

Assault Victim Discovered

On 2/25/2012 at 339AM Cuyahoga Falls Police responded to a man down on the ground behind a business in the 1700 Block of State Rd. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 32-year-old male who appeared to have been severely assaulted. The victim had lacerations and swelling about his head and face. There were no witnesses present.

Man Falls From Overpass

PRESS RELEASE 2/18/12

On 2/18/12 at 0115 hours Cuyahoga Falls Police responded to a report of a male walking on SR 8. As officers were enroute, a motorist on Howe Avenue observed something fall from the SR 8 overpass. A 42 year old male appeared to have fallen from the overpass on to Howe Avenue. The male had serious injuries from the fall and was treated by Cuyahoga Falls EMS and transported to Akron City Hospital. The incident is under investigation.
