Downtown Cuyahoga Falls announces newest restaurant - Burntwood Tavern

In addition to the removal of two dams in downtown Cuyahoga Falls, a new construction project has been underway at the former LeFever’s Restaurant on Riverfront Parkway.

Under new ownership, the Powerhouse at Water’s Edge is now home to Burntwood Tavern, opening September 16.

The City of Cuyahoga Falls is partnering with a number of local communities and organizations on a 2013 National Public Lands Day Cuyahoga River Cleanup project.

Cuyahoga Falls will celebrate its first-ever First Responders Appreciation Day, an all-day celebration of the service men and women who are the first to respond to emergencies and disasters, on Sunday, Sept. 29. The event is sponsored by Summa Western Reserve Hospital, the City of Cuyahoga Falls and the Cuyahoga Falls Fire and Police Departments.

September 4, 2013 (CUYAHOGA FALLS, OHIO) Acme Fresh Market will receive Efficiency Smart’s Ambassador of Efficiency Award on Tuesday, September 10 at 11 a.m. at its facility located at 2226 State Road. Cuyahoga Falls Commemorative Book Update

The Cuyahoga Falls Pictorial History Book, featuring a special section on the 2012 Bicentennial celebration, is currently in process with our publisher, M.T. Publishing.  We have experienced some delays due to additional materials added, but we can assure all those who have pre-ordered the book that the wait will be worth it!  The goal of the Commemorative Book Committee was to create an even better, more comprehensive book than all previous anniversary books before it.

Dam Demolition Process Continues

The demolition process of the two low head dams in Cuyahoga Falls continues.  As stated before, the river construction zone begins at Water Works Park and continues to Prospect Bridge.  The public is advised to stay out of the river, both in a personal manner and in a physical manner (i.e. watercraft).

First Cut Into Powerhouse Dam To Begin

The first cut into the Powerhouse Dam is scheduled to begin sometime after 12:30 p.m.

Powerhouse Dam Removal Scheduled

Weather permitting, the Powerhouse Dam removal is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 13, 2013.  Some preliminary testing and equipment set up will occur today, with removal beginning Tuesday. Please be advised this is still a construction zone.
