Valerie Wax Carr, Director of Public Service announces that the City of Cuyahoga Falls is eagerly planning the annual Arbor Day Program, which will take place Friday, April 26, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at the newly restored Keyser Barn, located on Bath Road at the corner of Bath Road and Keyser Parkway. Parking is available off Keyser Parkway, up the hill near the dog park. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
Each year, the City plants a tree to honor a facet of Cuyahoga Falls that has made a significant impact in our community. This year, we will honor the newly restored Keyser Barn, with the planting of a Legacy Sugar Maple tree.
Along with the program, the City selects a school to participate in an Arbor Day Poster Contest. This year the 1st Grade classes of Woodridge Primary School was asked to participate in a coloring contest with the theme of “Let's 'Root' for Trees, It's Our Legacy!" as we recognize the importance of trees in our community. The posters are judged by the Tree Board Members awarding a Grand Prize Winner and four (4) Honorable Mention Winners from the class. The poster winners are given prizes, which will be handed out at the Arbor Day Ceremony.
