The American Red Cross is hosting a community blood drive from 11 am to 7 pm on October 6 at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, 2345 Fourth Street.
Partnering with the City of Cuyahoga Falls, John Schmitt, manager of the Natatorium Subway®, is sponsoring this special blood drive. A kidney-transplant recipient, Schmitt wants to give back to the Red Cross for the life-saving blood he received. Because he is not permitted to donate blood, Schmitt sponsors two Red Cross blood drives each year to encourage healthy citizens to donate blood.
Each presenting donor will receive a coupon for a free, regular, 6-inch Subway® sandwich, redeemable at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium Subway®.
To schedule your donation, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or logon to www.redcrossblood.org. Donors must be at least 17 years old, (16 with parental permission), meet weight requirements (110 pounds or more, depending in height) and be in general good health.
Please bring a valid photo ID and a list of all current medications with you when you come to donate. One many donate blood every 56 days. For questions regarding criteria that may affect your eligibility to donate, call 1.866.426.0922.
