Ribbons of Honor Display at Oakwood Cemetery

Mayor Don L. Robart is proud to announce the upcoming Ribbons of Honor Display remembering the fallen heroes of the Iraqi War. This unique ribbon display will be showcased along the wrought iron fence of Oakwood Cemetery on Oakwood Drive beginning Saturday, May 17, 2008. The gold ribbons represent the more than 4,000 service people who have lost their lives during this time of war. Mayor Robart stated, "Citizen, project coordinator and volunteer, Terry Anaszewsicz, has worked diligently to bring this project to life. Her dedication and commitment to recognize those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom goes above and beyond most". Local company, AC Welding helped underwrite this project.

If you are able, please take the time to witness this heart-felt Ribbons of Honor Display. As Americans, we live in freedom because of the courage, dedication to duty and love of our country portrayed by the brave men and women of the Armed Forces.
