City Leaf Pickup Program EXTENDED Through Dec. 3rd

Mayor Don L. Robart has announced the extension of the Leaf Pickup program to December 3rd due the large amount of trees in the city that have not dropped their leaves. Please note that the regular leaf program schedule is still in effect through November 30th and will still need to be followed.

After November 30, all leaves must be raked to the curb by 7:00 a.m. December 3rd for a final citywide pickup. NO EXCEPTIONS. After clearing the devilstrips, city personnel will be reporting to the Superintendent that the street has been cleared of leaves. No additional visits will be made to collect leaves after the street has been cleared. We will be unable to extend the leaf program after this date as equipment must be finalized for availability to clear the roadways during snow events.

PLEASE REMEMBER: DO NOT PARK cars on the street during pickup days. DO NOT RAKE or BLOW leaves into the street. Raking or blowing leaves has caused extreme drainage problems and flooding situations.

After the final pickup December 3, only leaves placed in yard waste bags will be collected by the Sanitation Department on your city trash pickup schedule. City Yard Waste bags can be purchased through the Utility Billing windows (Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m.), Hudson Drive Hardware, Marathon Station at Second and Broad Boulevard, ACME #10 on State Road, ACME #12 on Bailey Road and Stutzman's on Bailey Road during normal business hours. The City will also accept other yard waste bags from your local home improvement stores. Also, citizens may feel free to contact a private lawn and landscape company to assist them in removing leaves from their property.

If you have any questions, please call the Leaf Pickup Hotline at 971-8031.
