Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Welcomes Winter With Opening of Ice Rink

Mayor Robart officially kicks off the winter season with the 3rd Annual Grand Opening of the Ice Rink at Falls River Square Saturday, November 25th at 12:00 noon. "The past two seasons of the ice rink drew huge crowds", commented Mayor Robart. "This year will be exceptional, with new programs, great music, food and fun for the entire family all season long."

At 12:00 noon, on November 25th, the rink will open for a full day of skating, mingling and merriment for adults and kids of all ages. "We've been preparing for this day for months and we're proud to bring the rink back to our residents each year to enjoy", commented Susan Truby, Director of Development.

Kids of all ages can visit and have their picture taken with Santa in his grand sleigh from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Costumed characters will be spreading holiday cheer throughout the afternoon, as well as carolers caroling and cool bands playing. A free gift will be given to each child that visits with Santa, courtesy of Victory Life Church. Bands will perform from 2:00 - 7:00 pm in the Pavilion sponsored by George's Drum Shop and the Jam Session Music Performance Studio. Stay for the annual tree lighting ceremony at 5:00 pm immediately followed by Christmas in Vegas, a magnificent ice show performed by professional skating instructor Kelly Lynch and her skating team.

Hot chocolate, specialty coffees, pizza and snacks will be available throughout the day provided by Habazzio's and Papa John's Pizza. Step into a winter wonderland in the Pavilion, sparkling with Olde World Santa decorations, generously donated by local Katherine's Collections.
