Convoy to D'Iberville

The city has adopted D'Iberville, Mississippi (pop 7,608) to be the focus of the City's relief efforts from the devastation from Hurricane Katrina."By concentrating our efforts on this one town, we can maximize our effectiveness to the hurting people of Mississippi," said Mayor Robart.

Mayor Robart spoke with Pastor Paul Springer of the First Pentecostal Church, who is coordinating relief efforts for the townspeople. Pastor Springer reported that D'Iberville was victimized by a 40 foot wall of water, and that approximately 60% of the town has been completely wiped out. What remains has been severely damaged from the wind and flooding. Most of the residents have lost everything they had. Over the last two weeks Mayor Rusty Quave of D'Iberville and Mayor Robart have been conferencing with each other on plans to assist D'Iberville. The first convoy of volunteers left on Tuesday September 20th.
