Doodlebug Memorial Ceremony To Be Held

Service Director Valerie Wax Carr and the Doodlebug Committee Members Kathy Gajovski, son Joseph Gajovski, Michelle Gera, son Nathan Gera and Clarissa Melvin announces there will be a Doodlebug Memorial Ceremony held Sunday, July 31, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the new Doodlebug Memorial Garden Site located at Riverfront Park at 2641 Front St. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this ceremony in memory of the victims of the Doodlebug Tragedy and its 65th Anniversary (1940-2005).



The Doodlebug Committee has eagerly been planning this special ceremony complete with a commemorative monument unveiling. The Doodlebug Memorial Garden site, located at the former Jim's Transmission is close to the actual site of the Doodlebug crash and in view of the Doodlebug Bridge and scenic Cuyahoga River.



Located at the Service Director's office is a Doodlebug Journal for the public to write their stories and memories regarding the Doodlebug and tragic crash. Letters and photographs can be submitted to the Office of Service Director, Attn: Doodlebug Journal, 2310 2nd Street, Cuyahoga Falls Ohio 44221. The journal will also be available at the ceremony. Letters and photographs will not be returned.
