Community Needs Survey

Dear Resident:

The City has limited funding available to address housing and community development needs. Each year, the City of Cuyahoga Falls receives approximately $600,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding form the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These CDBG funds are used to develop viable urban communities by providing low and moderate income persons with decent housing; a suitable living environment; and expanded economic opportunities.

Natatorium Offering Lifeguarding Classes and Certification

Lifeguarding classes and certifications will be held March 21 - March 24, 2016.  Class will meet from 9:00-4:00pm.  Participants must be a minimum of 15 years of age and must successfully pass the required precourse swimming test. If you are unable to attend ALL classes you will NOT pass the course. Upon successful completion of the class each participant will receive the following American Red Cross Certifications: Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), and Preventing Disease Transmission.


Mayor Don Walters is pleased to announce that Cuyahoga Falls has locked into a new gas rate with our current supplier IGS Energy.  Our current contract with IGS Energy began in April 2015 and continues through March 2017.  The current rate of $3.59/MCF is set to expire with the March 2016 billing period.  

Mayor Don Walters Announces Return of Income Tax Filing Assistance Program

Mayor Don Walters is once again partnering with Neighborhood Development Services (NDS) to provide the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to income qualified Cuyahoga Falls residents. IRS-certified volunteers will provide free basic income tax return preparation for the April 18, 2016 filing deadline.

2016 Energy Efficiency Seminar for Cuyahoga Falls Electric System Commercial & Industrial Electric Customers

Mayor Don Walters is pleased to announce that the Cuyahoga Falls Electric System (CFES) will be hosting an energy efficiency seminar on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium located at 2351 Fourth Street.

Falls River Square Ice Rink open until 6:00 PM New Years Eve

The Ice Rink at Falls River Square and concessions will be open 12:00pm to 6:00pm on 12/31/15. Have a wonderful and safe New Year!

The City of Cuyahoga Falls Awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

Mayor Don Walters is honored to announce that the City of Cuyahoga Falls has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
