Community Needs Survey

Dear Resident:

The City has limited funding available to address housing and community development needs. Each year, the City of Cuyahoga Falls receives approximately $600,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding form the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These CDBG funds are used to develop viable urban communities by providing low and moderate income persons with decent housing; a suitable living environment; and expanded economic opportunities.

Downtown Circulation Plan Open House (11-19-2015)

Over 150 residents attended the second Downtown Circulation Plan Open House at the Falls River Square Pavilion.  The City and MKSK consultants provided overviews of four street design concepts for the Downtown, North Front Street and Second Street.

CSX Track Maintenance at Broad Boulevard

The City of Cuyahoga Falls has been advised that CSX is scheduled to perform maintenance on the Broad Boulevard tracks between Monday, November 30th and Wednesday, December 9th, 2015.  During this time CSX will remove and replace those sections of train track that cross Broad Boulevard.   The road will be closed from the intersection of Tallmadge Rd / Newberry Street on the east side of the Railroad tracks,  to the on/off ramps of SR8 / Broad Boulevard on the west side of the tracks.

2016 American Municipal Power (AMP) Scholarship Program is Now Available

Mayor Don Walters announces that application information for the 2016 American Municipal Power (AMP) Scholarship Program is now available. AMP has established this scholarship program to encourage high school students in member communities to further their education and to create an awareness of careers in the municipal electric utility field.

Mayor Don Walters is seeking a new Planning Commission Member to replace a vacant seat on the Cuyahoga Falls Planning Commission.

The Cuyahoga Falls Planning Commission acts as the City's planning commissioner and maintains the City's master plan through the zoning map, land use controls, building/site design, land plotting, and street design and extension.

Mayor Walters Accepting Applications for 2016 Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council

Mayor Walters has announced that he is now accepting applications for the 2016 Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council. He is seeking eight (8) energetic, engaged students who reside in the City of Cuyahoga Falls and are in grades 9 through 12. Applications may be obtained at City Hall or at any of the local High Schools.
