After a winter shutdown, the contractor has returned to complete the Howe/Main project.  Pavement widening has been completed on the south side of Howe Avenue, and the west side of Main Street.  Currently the contractor's work zone is the North side of Howe Avenue, and the East side of Main Street.  Although there are some lane restrictions, all traffic is being maintained.  The anticipated completion of this project is August 2012.  For additional questions, contact the Engineering Department at 330-971-8180.

In addition to the City project O.D.O.T. is working on the retaining wall of the northbound ramp.   For additional questions, contact Justin Chesnic O.D.O.T. Public Information Officer 330-786-2209

August 24, 2011

Work continues on the Howe/Main project. Pavement widening has been completed on the south side of Howe Avenue, and the west side of Main Street. These new lanes will remain closed to allow for construction of retaining walls and sidewalks. In the next few weeks, the contractor will switch his work zone to the North side of Howe Avenue, and the West side of Main Street. Work will be suspended in November, and resume in April of 2012. For additional questions, contact the Engineering Department at 330-971-8180.

April 14, 2011

On Friday, April 15, the contractor will move traffic again for the Howe/Main project.  Since the start of the project this past Monday, one-lane of traffic in each direction was provided on Howe Avenue between the railroad tracks and Main Street.  This will change Friday the 15th when the contractor will set up the next zone.  This will involve re-establishing minimum of two lanes of traffic, shifting lanes slightly to the north on Howe, and to the east on Main, so we can build retaining walls, work on utilities, and build new pavement.  This condition will last until approx. July of 2011. For additional questions, contact the Engineering Department at 330-971-8180.
